This activity is intended for psychiatrists, primary care physicians, psychologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, psychiatric nurses, and other healthcare professionals who seek to improve the care of patients with mental health disorders.

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, participants should be able to:

Identify the etiology, pathophysiology, and neural pathways of various psychiatric disorders and their effects on patients

Implement evidence-based models on the use of psychotherapeutic and pharmacotherapeutic interventions to develop treatment plans, predict treatment response, optimize remission, and prevent relapse

Employ strategies to identify and remove barriers to treatment to improve patient outcomes in the acute and long-term management of psychiatric disorders

Assess psychiatric disorders, as well as patients’ overall health, including comorbidities, with the goal of improving diagnosis and treatment

Credit Designation Statements

Physicians

HMP Education designates this live activity for a maximum of 26.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Physician Assistants

HMP Education has been authorized by the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with the AAPA CME Criteria. This live activity is designated for 26.25 AAPA Category 1 credits. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.

Nursing

This continuing nursing education activity awards 26.25 contact hours. This activity will also award pharmacotherapeutic contact hours. However, the final credits so designated will not be announced until all content is reviewed and approved. Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider #13255 for 26.25 contact hours.

Psychologists

Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs.

Social Work (ASWB ACE)

As a Jointly Accredited Organization, HMP Education is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. HMP Education maintains responsibility for this live course. Social Workers completing this course receive 26.25 continuing education credits.

 

Marriage & Family Therapy

As a Jointly Accredited Organization, HMP Education is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The APA pre-approves New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, Rhode Island, South Dakota, and Washington, D.C., for Marriage and Family Therapy credit. HMP Education has received pre-approval for this conference from the following marriage and family boards: 

New York: HMP Education is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Mental Health Practitioners as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed marriage and family therapists #MFT-0085.

California: HMP Education is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for Psych Congress. NACCME maintains responsibility for this program/course and its content. Provider #147376

Pharmacy

This live, knowledge-based activity (Universal Activity Number  JA0006201-0000-23-076-L01-P) has been approved for 26.25 contact hours. The certificate is not the official record of your participation in the activity. The official record of credit will be the information in the CPE Monitor system. Following ACPE Policy, HMP Education must transmit your claim to CPE Monitor within 60 days from the date you complete this CPE activity. HMP Education is not able to report your claimed credit after this 60-day period. Eligibility for pharmacy credit is contingent upon the successful completion of a post-test and/or evaluation for each activity or session attended.

Requirements for Credit

To be eligible for documentation of credit, participants must attend the educational activity and complete the evaluation form. After successful completion of the evaluation form online, participants may immediately print their documentation of credit.

Healthcare professionals treating patients with mental health disorders should check with their state licensing and certification boards to determine if Psych Congress meets their continuing education requirements.
